SSC JHT Examination 2017 at ssc.nic.in - Translator, Hindi Pradhyapak Posts

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a notification at ssc.nic.in for Combined Recruitment of Junior Hindi Translators, Junior Translators, Senior Hindi Translator and Hindi Pradhyapak through an open competitive Computer Based Examination.An All India Open Competitive Examination will be conducted in the month of June.Candidates having requisite qualifications can submit applications online from 15th April 2017 to 5th May 2017 up to 5.00 pm.

  • Junior Translator in Armed Forces Headquarters (AFHQ) - Level-6 (Rs.35400- 112400)
  • Junior Translator / Junior Hindi Translator in subordinate offices who have adopted Model RRs of DoP&T for JT/JHT - Level-6 (Rs.35400- 112400)

Age Limit : Upper age limit is 30 years as on 1st January 2017

Education Qualification: 

(i) Junior Hindi Translators/ Junior Translators : Candidate must possess Master's degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination OR Master's degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination OR Master's degree in in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a examination with a Diploma/ Certificate in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years experience of translation work in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking

(ii) Senior Hindi Translator : Candidate must possess Master's degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination OR Master's degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination OR Master's degree in in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a examination with a Diploma/ Certificate in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or three years experience of translation work in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking

(iii) Junior Translator / Junior Hindi Translator in subordinate offices who have not yet adopted Model RRs of DoP&T for JT/JHT : Candidate must possess Master's degree in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level OR Bachelor's degree with Hindi and English as main subjects

(iv) Hindi Pradhyapak : Candidate must possess Bachelor's degree in Hindi with English as one of the subject at degree level either as compulsory or optional plus Master's degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/Institute or Bachelor's degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Master's degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/Institute

Selection Process : Examination will consist of two papers (Paper-I & Paper-II). Paper- I will be Computer Based Objective Type paper which will consist of Multiple choice questions and Paper- II will contain two passages for translation-one passage for translation from Hindi to English and one passage for translation from English to Hindi, and an Essay each in Hindi and English, to test the candidates’ translation skills

Application Fee : Candidates are required to pay Application fee charges of Rs.100 which should be pay On-line by SBI challan/ net banking/debit card/credit cards.No fee charges for all women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Persons with disability and Ex- servicemen.
